As you may have noticed, dearest followers of this dlog, I've really been neglecting my dlogging duties of late. What with all the trials and travails of leading the life of a top fashion dog, I hardly have time to sit down at the mini-doggy desktop to keep you updated of the the latest in canine fabulousness. And I feel like a very very bad dog about it. However, not so bad that I'd trade my afternoons in Holland Park for extra credit dlogging, a doginista's gotta have her priorities. That being said, so as to not totally deprive you of my fabulousness, like the sun playing hide and seek in Londontown all summer long or being shut up in the doghouse out back when the bed is dressed in the finest Egyptian cottons, it's just cruel and I'd never do that to you. So in the meantime, until I can hire my second personal dogassistant to help me stay on top of my tedious doggy admin, I have moved myself over to the more low-maintenance (not at all like my tail) Tumblr where I've launched a Pomblr of my very own. So until the dog days are over and I find myself with a bit more extra time on my paws, it'll have to be the Pomblr for you and for me.

So I do hope you won't take this opportunity to go off lead and stray too far from my Pommy pack, I promise the life of this fashion dog is still worth following, we're just going to have to Pomblr for it in the time being...

Doginista of the Day: Peter Pan, Milan

As Mommy prepares to return to Italia for the mens fashion shows next week, I get in the mood by interviewing a little Milanese-based snack of my own, the hunky chocolate lab Peter Pan. Son of Mommy's friend Aunty Delphine Hervieu, who is a fashion writer out in Milan, Peter Pan, though Parisian in origina, is the dolciest doggy around the catwalks of the Duomo.

Butters Fashion Dog: Peter Pan, can you, as your name suggests fly? Or do you just wear lots of the PP collars churned out by Miu Miu a few seasons back

Peter Pan: Yes, I can fly very high at least in my dreams. What makes me fly? cookies, apples, my mum when she comes back from work. In regards to Miu Miu, it is definitely one of my favourite brands, I have been intoxicated by my Mummy. She loves collars and goes around showcasing her leopard, polka dot or pompom ones, all by Miu... Miu.

BFD: What are you most Diva Doginista qualities? Do they kick in mainly around dinnertime or are you an attention whore?

PP: I hate when people do not hold the door for me in the elevator or just pass in front of me without a smile or a knock of the head. I do not enter fast food or fast fashion places and definitely could not tolerate to have to sleep on the floor. I am an attention whore, sophistication does not belong to a daily time slot.

BFD: What's your signature pose when modeling?

PP: Sitting straight on my paws.

BFD: Tell me a little about your average day, what does a day in the life of a Milanese fashion dog look like?
PP: I wake up very early as my mum takes me out before she goes to the gym, she is a fitness freak. So my alarm clock is set to 5:30... Then I go back to bed and wait for her to come back. Breakfast served, a bit of pampering and I am ready to welcome my dogsitter who takes me out for at least two hours in the park. Most of the time my mum will pick me up for a nice lunch at Gold or some American treats at Californian Bakery. Afternoons are to rest as most of the evenings I am out and about, starring at fashion and glamourous events from art gallery openings to fashion happenings, believe me, I come back with a mouth full of business cards.

BFD: Two final questions: 1) What is your favorite designer shoe to chew? and 2) You're obviously too big to ride in a bag, but if you could, what bag would it be?

PP: Balenciaga for bags and Prada for shoes. Chanel is a no go. For bags, it would be a bespoke one from Goyard, I am a bit French after all!

Love is in the air (though not with a slobbering Basset Hound, where do these brands CAST these mutts??), one of my favorite Italian brands, Moschino, has teamed up with Yoox to launch a limited edition capsule collection of leashes and collars. Available exclusively on yoox.com, the collection will be online in the PETS area starting at the end of May 2011.

All proceeds from the MOSCHINO PETS project will go to the “National Disaster Search Dog Foundation”, a non-profit organization dedicated to training rescue dogs to become search dogs. Once trained, these dogs are partnered with firefighters and other first responders to assist in finding people after natural disasters. In particular, the project supports the rescue activities conducted after the recent earthquake in Japan, where my Mommy and my Grandmommy have lots of family.

According to the press release, the face of Moschino Pets is actually a world champion Basset Hound (I guess I should never judge a pedigree by its cover). As World Champion 2006 and father of the current World Champion 2010, Woferlow Single Malt is better known as “Rocco” (way to allow your parents to name you after an Alexander Wang bag).

With the big day less than twenty-four hours away, it's time for this hunk of fluff to share her two puppy-cents on the subject. Why, with all the fuss over what Kate is going to wear, the more important question of how the Queen will accessorize her beloved Corgis has gone virtually unnoticed by the media. Sigh, leaving all the work to me, as per usual.

Anyway, aside from the fact that tomorrow is not only Kate and Wills' big day, it is also my FOURTH BIRTHDAY. That's right, one princess, one day at a time. So I thought I'd kick off the celebrations with a look back on some of more memorable nuptial moments of the canine elite. You know what they say, every dog must have it's (wedding) day and the more divanista the dog, the more fabulous the parties. Too bad the dresses often outlive the marriages themselves!

Golden couple Brad Pitt-Bull and Jennifer Dogistan here pictured at their joyful $1 million wedding on July 29, 2000. Jennifer wore a showstopping gown by Lawrence Steele and Brad designed their rings, yes, the same ones on which Angelina Doglie is most likey allowing her large litter of adopted pups to teeth on today.

Chihuahua actress/singer Hilary Fluff in Vera Wang before her 2010 nuptials to pro-fetch player, Mike Corgie who proposed with a 14-carat engagement ring that weighed more than his pint-sized intended.

Comedian Jack Russel Brand and popstar Katy Terriery celebrated their 2010 nuptials with a week of festivities at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary. The tigers, regrettably, were not invited to the ceremony.

When Harry met Doggy... America's golden couple circa 1990: actors Mutt Ryan and Doggy Quaid in happier times. Among the handful of guests in attendance were Tom’s parents, and his 18-month-old pup by another bitch. Gisele wore a Dolce & Gabbana ivory lace strapless wedding dress with a trumpet skirt. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses in her mouth.

Before she was jilted: Sandra Bulldog married Jesse James in 2006 in a Western themed affair, which the 270 guests thought was a BBQ for Sandra's birthday upon receiving the invite. The bride wore a silk and lace tulle Angel Sanchez gown while her groom made quite the entrance in a red double cab truck. Too bad a few years later, he made quite the exit too.

Happier times: Troubled actor Charlie-Chihuahua Sheen pictured here on his 2002 wedding day with actress Denise Bitchards. Bitchards walked down the aisle in a scoop neck antique white wedding dress by Giorgio Armani accessorized diamond stud earrings, while clutching a bouquet of ivory roses in her teeth.

Girls, girls girls! Pretty in pink, comedian Ellen deDogeres tied the knot with girlfriend Portia de Doggi (wearing a gorgeous Zac Posen gown) during an intimate ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills in 2008. Isn't it ironic that Hollywood's most famous canine lesbian couple are a pair of sausage dogs?

Fashion designer Marc Dogobs stylishly married his ad exec boyfriend Lorenzo Martone over Christmas this year in matching hot pink ties and crisp white collars of the groom's own design. The affair was a small and private one, with only Anna Windog invited, followed by a reception in St. Barts.

When it comes to the gay dogs, nobody can top the extravaganza that was the marriage of Sir Elton Dog to his partner David Furnish, one of the U.K.’s first gay couples to tie the knot in a civil-partnership ceremony in December 2005. The turnout at Guildhall in Windsor, England, rivaled that of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ wedding, which took place in the same venue the previous spring.

Reality TV mogul couple, Speidi (aka Spencer D. Twatt and Heidi Mondawg), tied the knot before thousands of viewers on their hit MTV series, the Dog Hills. The poodle bride wore over $1 million in diamonds from designer Neil Lane and sported a creampuff dress from Monique Lhuillier. The poodle groom already full of enough fluff sported a Hugo Boss bowtie.

Then mega-popstars (now mega-trainwrecks) then-virgin-Jessica Terrier-Simpson and ex-boy-dog-bander Nick SharPei famously tied the knot one rainy October day in 2002 in Austin, Texas. The romantic affair of the year, Jessica wore a strapbless beaded Vera Wang gown and an 11-carat Harry Winston pave diamond headband attached to her veil while groom wore Hugo Boss. Too bad the couples' ensuing MTV reality show, Newlywed Dogs, outlasted the marriage.

Pit-bull socialite princess Khloe Kardogian here pictured on her big day big married LA Lakers forward Dogar Odom in 2009. The reality TV star/socialite and the basketballer famously tied the knot in a lavish ceremony (taped for their show, of course) after a brisk one month courtship.

Vampire-dogs Kristen Dogwart and Dogbert Pattinson, in the biggest doggy news story of 2010, secretly eloped without the knowledge of the press (or their parents!) in quickie ceremony in Las Vegas. Bitches across the world are mourning the loss of hunky wolf-like Pattinson to that homebody collie! Hopefully they'll entire the Twilight of their love soon enough...

Carrie Dogshaw, all dressed up in Vivienne Westwood with no Mr. Big Dog at the altar...Dogue or dudes? Won't be making that same mistake again.

Movie star Tom D. Cruise married actress Katie Holmes in a lavish ceremony at the Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy. The chihuahuas exchanged white gold Cartier wedding collars during a twenty-minute Scientology ceremony. The lavish four-day affair was rumored to have cost $3.5 million and many A-list dog guests were in attendance. Holmes wore a custom Armani wedding dress and Andrea Bocelli performed while the couple danced their first dance and guests chowed down on a five-tiered white chocolate and liverwurst wedding cake.

Ben Dogfleck and Jennifer GarnTerrier were married on June 29, 2005 in a top secret beach wedding at Parrot Cay Resort in Turks and Caicos. Jennifer was five months pregnant at the time and hid her pupppy-bump beneath an empire waist gown by Vera Wang.

Eva Dogoria wed Tony Barker in a breathtaking candle-lit cathedral ceremony in what was hailed as the celebrity wedding of the year. The bride wore a $75,000 silk georgette and organza gown by Angel Sanchez, with ribbons of gazar metallic embroidery and a five-foot train. A few weeks ago, I attended an event among friends in my ex-neighborhood Notting Hill to help concept store Wolf & Badger celebrate their first birthday. While I was accustomed of course to the usual set of characters patrolling the party (the London fash pack is not an ever evolving one) I was, however, very surprised to be the only four legged creature in the building. Neither wolves nor badgers were anywhere to be seen, and I had to reconcile myself to the fact that my Uncle Bert was as hairy my fellow party-goers would get. But that's ok, reigning four legged queen as per usual, I enjoyed watching my human companions getting rowdier and rowdier by the straw-sipped cosmo and all in all thoroughly enjoyed the night.

Pomeranian in the Front Row: Mulberry, London Fashion Week

Like Madame Wintour herself, this prized pup only attends la creme de la creme of shows during fashion week, where some intern (or teething pup) keeps my seat warm for me til I arrive with my parade of adoring puparazzi in tow. Thus it was this season with Mulberry, who, as per usual, conducted themselves with manners worthy of Crufts, sending me a front row invitation with a little addendum of a plus one for my human assistant (otherwise known as Mommy). Along with said invitation also arrived a lovely tiger-print dusty orange jacket from the new Spring/Summer collection for yours truly to don on show day (no outfit for Mommy, haha).

But to my horror, when I arrived at the venue was and was busy dutifully obliging my adoring fans with kisses and cuddles, as I watched the other VIP's (very-important-pets) trickle in, my jaw suddenly locked with a tremendous bark, as shrill as I could manage that early in the morning (normally this fashion dog doesn't rise til noon and Emma Hill chose 10AM for catwalk kickoff). The ultimate in fashion week faux paws; I had a Malti-Poo, the progeny of this editor or that, for a doppelganger. Oh-My-Friggin-Dawg!!! While Mommy and the Malti's mommy cooed over the adorableness of our matching outfits, I snarled my bitchiest fashion week snarl at the cheeky white mop of a "doginista", who, breaking gaze first, clearly admitted that there was no question as to "who wore it better." But when Mommy insisted on taking a picture of the two of us together, I let loose the full brunt of my inner diva, and like Naomi herself, I refused to pose whilst I scanned the room for the nearest mobile device with which I could slap first Mommy and then the offending Malti-poo.

After the close encounter (it nearly came to a dog-walk-off!!), Mommy quickly wised up and swept me back to my rightful place in the FROW (just opposite Alexa Chung, of course) while my newfound nemesis made her way towards the back of the venue. Feeling satisfied and relaxed at last, I curled up on Mommy's lap, and waited for the show to begin.

And when begin it did, I was incredibly pleased to discover that my visage had served as one of Emma Hill's main inspirations. My face adorned bag rivets, the brand's signature Portsman locks and was even splashed around as a print on dresses, tops and skirts. Sure Emma may have claimed that said creature was actually a quote-un-quote "fox" but we all know who the foxiest Knoxy tooling about Londontown is. Just admit it, Emma, though you persist in your love of Schnauzers and Pugs as runway model breed of choice, it is the Pomeranian that truly is your canine muse. And speaking of Schnauzers, as soon as the show ended, me and my four perfectly pawdicured paws were immediately whisked backstage for a chance to interview the hunk of fur himself. In the midst of the LFW madness, Mommy and I snuck away from the melee of Somerset House to join my fabulous friend Roland Mouret for a glass (or mini bowl, in my case) of champers at his new flagship store at 8 Carlos Place. I must say, I have a soft spot for handsome Frenchmen, and Roland (proud father to Jack Russel Dave) really knows how to handle a posh dog or two. Scratching me in just the right spots and tickling my tummy, when Roland had to get up and leave us to go for a fitting, I nearly let my killer bark resound throughout the shop in defiance. But on account of his fabulousness and this fashion dog's innate understanding of how to play the game, especially in the runup to his Paris runway show, instead, I just nudged mommy to insist that she pick off where he left off. Roland, mon amour, I'll see you in Paris!

Today's Doginista of the day is along the lines of mommy's most recent blog posts from Milan--that is to say, MAN CANDY (to all the little chihuahua bitches out there reading, YOU'RE WELCOME for this mid-week pick me up)! Who knew when I opened the call for doginista submissions that I'd find myself in a matter of days staring smackdab into the face of the Brad Pitt of the canine world, my forlorn love across the sea, Bizmark's Bodacious Buddy known affectionately to those in his inner circle as Bodey.

Bodey is AKC registered Golden Retriever of Emily from Fashion Foie Gras. He, just like his mommy (and my aunty!!!!) is from an award winning bloodline (obviously, just look at that jawline) of golden retrievers. A strapping man of six, like a fine canine wine or Geroge Clooney, Bodey just continues grow more handsome with each passing year. A true all-American dog, Bodey prefers the brands of the heartland and is hardly ever seen wearing bandannas by anyone other than Ralph Lauren. Sigh, sometimes a girl just needs a bit of preppy masculinity in her life to get the puppy-heart rate going.

Alas, All-American hunk that he is, Bodey resides back in North Carolina while his Mommy lives here in London. There are times when I see Aunty Em and she has just the faintest trace of smoldering retriever on her, but it's ever so distant, so I dream of the day when I get get a good whiff of my own. But I feel for both Bodey and Aunty Emily, I know how hard it is to be stuck Stateside whilst your Mommy traipses off around the world, abandoning you--in fact, I think I've just sorted our first date dinner conversation. Just two pedigreed blonds, one T-bone steak and the red, white and blue, what more could an American-Pom in London wish for?

Pomeranian at the Press Days: Mulberry Mio

On Friday, Mommy took me to visit one of my all-time favorite human and canine brands, Mulberry, who were having their preview for Fall/Winter 2011. Remembering last season's Victoria Sponge Cakes from the press day, my little paws couldn't carry me down Bond Street fast enough. And sure enough, in lieu of cakes (there were little foxy cookies which resembled my own visage so much that even I couldn't bring myself to chow down), there was a chubby and wrinkly faced boy pug, the Mulberry pug, lounging about at his mommy's feet wearing the latest season's hoodie waiting to greet me upon arrival.

Being the diva doginista I am, I can smell a fix up from a mile away. The human thought process is thus: "ooooh they're both doggy models, roughly the same age, it'll be love at first sight!" HEllllllo! Doesn't mommy know I string along multiple boys at any given time, it's just the diva doginista's way. Anyhow, I'll never turn my tail up at an opportunity to sniff bums with a pedigreed and STRAIGHT male dog, alas, I'm worried that Uncle Simon G's Dhilly has gone over to the gays and is now using me as a doggy-beard. However, straight though the pug may be, he was also working a little number at the press day and I just couldn't let myself be shown up. Exqueese me: I AM THE FASHION DOG, taste coming out of my little paws in spades. He is nothing more than a canine clothes-hanger, a vestibule on which doggy jumpers and jackets get showcased--it was very obvious that this here was a straight, unfixed man of a man dog.

So naturally, I was invited to try on this amazing taupe and cream striped mohair jumper, so that myself and my male counterpart could pose together for a few choice puppy paparazzi.

Fashion dog and lover of limelight that I am, I beamed naturally at the cameras, widening my smile to put Julia Robert's to shame and coyly showing off the assets of that beautiful jumper. Poor little man was totally upstaged, I mean, just look at the dismay on his face in the photo above. When it comes to a little snappy sesh, all canine breeds must know, pugs simply cannot compete with Pomeranians.

That's right, you can make that sad droopy face all you want, poof beats wrinkles and that's that. Eventually, I got bored of his sulking and migrated in the direction natural for all fashion dogs: towards the nearest Alexa. Slumped over on the floor, a classic honey Alexa was sitting neglected, so I had to check it out.

After touching the soft leather with my paws, I knew that this little number had to be added to mommy's bag wishlist, and promptly set about seeing if I could climb inside (read: investigating whether or not Mommy needs to go oversized to accommodate yours truly). Too bad the owner had the damn thing buckled and I couldn't get inside! Opposable thumbs would be SO useful sometimes!

With all the stress of the holiday season, back to back shoots, endless parties and whatnot, I'll admit, even this diva doginista started to look a little rough around the edges. And that's no way to start a new decade. Thank god the lovely folk at Harrods responded to a tweet of mine that I was in dire need of a day at the spa and came to my rescue.

The day began with a much-needed full groom. My groomer was a lovely lady who really knew what she was doing, I don't put the fate of this face in just any hands. A delicious bath with two shampoos, I soaked up the luxurious suds as if in a doggy hot tub, it felt SO good.

Then the groomer stripped off some of my dead hair, allowing my luminous coat to shine through, trimmed my claws and cleaned between the paw pads. Then she cleansed my ears (sooo satisfying) and ruffled me up with a warm blow dry. Then my coat was styled according to what I usually like: puffy as can be around the tail and body, but neat and trim round the behind so as to avoid messy poo.

Rub a dub dub, Pommy in the Tub

Next came the pawdicure, much needed, might I add, all these photoshoots and press days, traipsing up and down Bond Street can really do a number on your claws. The relaxing pedicure lasted all of 30 minutes and began with a luxurious vanilla and milk-thistle paw soak, if only Mommy would hop to it and end all my evenings in this way. Then came the nail clean up, finished with my little tootsies being wrapped in steam towels to soften paw pads and a heavenly gentle paw massage. The treatment helps to heal paws damaged by gravel, asphalt, snow, salt-treated roads and hot pavement (not that Mommy ever deigns to let me tread on such un-glamorous surfaces) and the vitamin-enriched conditioners keep paws soft, making them less likely to crack.

Then it was time for my facial, my favorite part of the whole experience, literally, if Mommy doesn't schedule me regularly, there will be puppy hell to pay. The blueberry and vanilla facial began with a
hydrating facial scrub to cleanse, soothe and balance. The mask has a natural and gentle exfoliating effect, helping to remove dirt and wipe away the unsightly tear stains around my eyes that had built up over the weeks since my last groom. The treatment was topped off with a relaxing head massage, I was literally in doggy bliss--there's a reason Pomeranian and Pampered alliterate.

The finishing touch to my treatment? SPARKLE! That's right, tis the season for pooches to shine, with red carpets to hit and parties galore, forget the NYE Snooki-drop, I AM THE NEW YEAR'S BALL. I opted for gold glitter (to compliment my blonde locks) and they coated my coat with shimmer spray (non-permanent and safe for pets). I literally glowed from the inside out when Mommy came to collect me.

Now, the pet spa offers a whole range of treatments geared towards maintaining our canine fabulousness from the inside out. For my slightly chubbier peers, the Pet Spa offers a Weight Management Programme in association with Hill's Pet Nutrition. Offered in 30 minute sessions, overweight doggies sign up to a weight watchers type program where they must keep a food diary and pop in for regular weight checks.

The introductory session is followed by five weekly weigh-in and assessment sessions lasting from 10 to 20 minutes. So if you're resolution in 2011 is to shed those extra pesky few kg, there's also the personal trainer, who guides you through routine exercises to help slim down. Complete with a doggy treadmill (flatscreen playing all the latest in canine reality TV), not that I'll ever need it, but nice to know the option exists should I overindulge on the chicken in the years to come.

The other luxury of which I didn't get a chance to partake but will certainly be going back for? Doggy massage. And I don't mean Mommy's half-assed attempts to stroke me whilst watching Mad Men. No I mean trained professionals. The Luxury Canine Massage lasts one hour and is based on human Sweish massage, working to relax muscles and release soothing endorphins. Not just for pampering, the Pet Spa also offers rehabilitation for injured doggies with a qualified pet physiotherapist. And finally, I simply MUST try this, the Pet Spa also offers alternative treatments, namely, "Animal Communication and Reiki Healing." Reiki is a healing method administered by laying on hands, or by absenthealing, and channelling energy to the animal enabling them to heal faster. The introductory session provides an opportunity for the Harrods reiki master to learn about your pet’s issues and to begin communicating with your pet. A consultation with the pet owner is followed by 40 minutes of reikiand 20 minutes of animal communication.

To all my civilized canine friends out there (listen up, Mommies and Daddies), I say this: the Harrods Pet Spa is pet pampering at its finest, the way it should be, and there's a treatment for every doginista. These two years I've spent in London, I've longed for luxury of this sort, which is considered the doggy norm back in my hometown of NYC. I would recommend this spa to every and any doggy I know, and cats too. From wholistic approaches to classic spoiling, every doginista deserves her day at the spa. So if Doggy Santa didn't bring you what you wanted this year, nudge your parents gently in the direction of the pet spa, because at the end of the day, it's not just the pup that gleans the reward of a fabulous groom. It's a new decade, doginistas, time to get glam!

So while Mommy has been busy flitting about shooting here, there and everywhere, it was time for the Doginista to usurp the spotlight and slip into a little fur and makeup for a bit of Doggy Style. My target du jour? Doggy mainstay label, Juicy Couture, whose pickings have evolved beyond the normal puppy puffas and printed tees to include a sophisticated range of accessories and apparel for the stylish canine on the go. It's all in the name, couture dahhhhling....

Look One: Flashdog

Look one for me, was not my favorite. Whilst I adored this chocolate and pink sport striped jumper, these paw-warmers left me feeling less than amused. If you're going to opt for paw covers of some sort, they better cover your actual paws! How silly these humans can be...

Look Two: Faux Fabulousness

This little number has been on the dlog before, but given that faux fur is all the rage this season (thank you, Uncle Karl), I just couldn't resist the opportunity to rock it again. All you need is a Cartier diamond studded collar (and matching lead) and you're ready to hit the Ivy (just beware the pommy paps lurking outside).

Look Three: Razzle Dazzle

Look three was this grey jersey number with tiny gold sequin detail. I loved the cut on the front of the shirt, and Mommy's always a big fan of jersey for pommy on account of how easy it is to wash (not that I EVER roll in the dirt). This is the sort of outfit I'd slip into for an afternoon of shopping or appointments--nothing too fancy, but the sequinage is key for any doginista.

Look Four: Mirror Mirror on the Wall, Who's the Chicest Dog of All?

As you all know, ruffles are set to be HUGE in the canine fashion world for SS11, and this frock ticks all the right boxes. My signature color, princess pink, a cascade of cotton tiered shingles AND...(pawroll please...) comes complete with a hood! I've accessorized this look with my Choose Juicy purse chew.

Look Five: The Bitch is Back

Every doginista knows that her collar is her calling card. That is to say, the one accessory by which all the other doggies in the park judge her. For a petit pom like myself, embellished collars are a tricky affair, as anything with more than one crystal feels like a lead ball round my delicate little neck. Luckily, Juicy have designed this fab black leather collar adorned with the letters in gold "THE BITCH IS BACK" but in the lightest of materials, so while it appears chunky, it doesn't snap my neck. The gold tassel detail is also lovely, but I predict cumbersome during routine activities such as fetch, so I'd relegate this saucy little number to my collection of going-out-collars.

Look Six: Pommy Down the Chimney Tonight

I simply adore this black and white check jacket (so much so, in fact, I took it home with me), this is the perfect garment for the London doginista on the go. Less restrictive than a long sleeve coat or a puffa, this is an easy everyday piece. Complete with lead-hole at the nape, a lovely sturdy wool, this coat keeps me chic as I strut my stuff about the City of Westminster.

Look Seven: Window-Gazer

Another Spring/Summer look, this ruffle front, bow-tied dress is a classic summer number you'll find yourself pulling out of your doggy wardrobe season after season. I love the ties in the front, sweet as pie-but no romping in the park in this one!! An outfit may just be for Christmas but a grass stain is forever...

Look Eight: Rub a Dub Dub, Pommy in the Tub!

This was Mommy's favorite look, she could barely shoot it she was so busy fawning. A terry cloth robe is really a must for any true doginista, what are you suppose to do, lounge at home naked?? Anyhow, this bunny-themed robe had Mommy on her knees with its floppy bunny-eared hood and cottonball tail.

Look Nine: The Pommy Princess and the Pea

Those of you who've had the honor of puppy-sitting me know that yours truly never sits on the floor, never on the couch...but only atop the highest fluff of pillows either on your sofa or bed. We Pomeranians are creatures of luxury. So for a long time, Mommy has wanted to shoot me as the Princess and the Pea. Here we've simulated the fairy tale using a stack of pillows and a pink ball chew toy (Juicy Couture of course). For my outfit, Mommy put me in a hot pink jumpsuit (the canine version of the tracksuit), which is about as modern-day princessy as you can get!

So last night, whilst my thoroughly Z-list Mommy was parked on the couch catching up with Gossip Girl, yours truly slipped into her finest feathered headdress, called my limo and headed on down to the Savoy to rub paws with some of my favorite other Fashion A-listers. Supreme bitch Naomi Campbell was there (I bow to her diva ways, she even puts this doginista to shame) and of course my BFFs Erdem, Daisy Lowe, Giles Deacon, Daphne Guiness and more.

When I arrived at the Savoy, slipping like a little celeb pro through the throngs of paparazzi to take my place at the photocall, I realized I had been slotted in alongside Miss Daphne Guiness, who, needless today was rather peeved that my headdress was bigger than hers.

At dinner, I was seated next to Giles Deacon, and couldn't help but notice the jealous looks being shot our way from across the the room by Erdem Moralioglu. Of course Mr. Harold Tillman, whose acquaintance I first made last fashion week, when he made a special concession for me to be the only Fashion Dog allowed in the BFC tent at Somerset House.

The awards ceremony itself was everything I could have hoped for and more, save the awkward moment with Phoebe Philo misheard presenter Bianca Jagger, thinking she was announcing the "Designer of the Year" instead of "Doginista of the Year." She was a good sport though, when corrected, and promptly handed over the statuette so that I could immediately scent it with eau de winner so that any other doggy within a mile radius can smell the Pommy victory oozing off the trophy. Now the only thing left to do is find a money spot in Hyde Park to bury it. Let the sniffing begin!

A couple of weeks ago, the Fashion Dog trotted over to Browns for a spot of tea with the one and only Erdem Moralioglu. We cuddled and snacked and had our pic snapped as Mama tried on some of Erdem's dresses. The instant love between the designer and my plucky self was so palpable that Erdem even offered to Mommy to swap yours truly for a gown! While I wasn't thrilled at the idea, Mommy, clad head to toe in a £3k chiffon dream paused momentarily. Making Cakes with Mulberry

Whilst attending the Mulberry Press Day this week, Mommy was busy oohing and aahing over the new Tilly bag, my main objective was to score a piece (if not a whole one) of Mommy's Mulberry Victoria Sponge Cake. Watching her scarf down the fluffy treat, icing and all, without dropping a single crumb was too much for me to handle. I put on my best Sponge Cake Airs--puppy eyes, high pitched whimpers and even resorting to a bit of "dancey dancey!" To no avail. Hence when I saw that Mulberry had published the recipe for said sponge cake on their blog, I decided to set about making one of my own whilst mommy sneaks off to yet another press day. Too bad, the ingredients, upon closer inspection, were not doggy friendly, and so I offer up some tasty substitutes....


NOT for POMS :(

Bow Wow Beef and Bacon Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

2/3 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 jar of strained beef baby food

3 large eggs

1/2 cup bacon bits

Directions

Stir flour and baking powder together in a mixing bowl.

Cream together the butter, oil, baby food and eggs.

Mix the dry ingredients with the wet mix, and then stir in the bacon bits.

Pour into a greased and floured 8" x 8" baking pan.

If desired, sprinkle a light layer of bacon bits on top as a frosting substitute.

Bake in a 350 degree F oven for approximately 35-40 minutes or until the center of the cake springs back when lightly poked. Oven times may vary.

Canine Carob and Carrot Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla (Optional)

2 eggs

1 cup shredded carrots

1/2 cup carob chips (Easily available at your local health food store)

Directions

Mix the dry ingredients.

Cream together the butter, oil, eggs and optional vanilla.

Stir in the carrots and carobs.

Pour batter into a well-greased 8"x 8" square or 8-inch round baking pan. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Baking time may vary in your oven.

The Most important bit: FROSTING OPTIONS!!!!!

* Cream cheese: Well whipped cream cheese is quite spreadable and super super tasty too, Mommy used to coat my kibble in the stuff when I was a picky pup turning my nose up at dry food. Just be sure to refrigerate the cake when you're finished decorating.

* Plain yogurt: Yogurt makes a healthy cake topping (read: not as tasty as cream cheese), and the plain variety compliments just about any cake flavor. Due to its consistency, yogurt is best used on a birthday cake you plan to leave in the pan. Again, be sure to refrigerate.

* Peanut butter: OMG OMG I LOVE peanut butter and the creamy consistency makes this a natural choice for a frosting substitute. Just be certain your dog doesn't have any kind of peanut allergy before you give it a try. You can also blend a little peanut butter into cream cheese for added flavor and color.

So as you all know, thanks to the lovely folks at DEFRA, who delight in hiding behind regulations making it effectively impossible for a little fashion dog to innocently and SANS RABIES transatlanticify for the fashion shows, I was unable to attend NYFW this season (check in with Mommy for proper show coverage). Good thing before I packed up and moved off the little island that could, I left with a network of Canine Style Spies, sourced all the way from Tompkins Square Dog Run in the East Village up to Park Avenue Puppy Princesses, securely in place.

So what should land in my inbox mid fashion week (besides my FROW ticket to Marc Dogabs, sigh), but a plethora of haute dog sightings: doggy street style a la NYC to the max. From the pack, there are a few I'd like to share with you, starting with this little four legged creature sighted outside the tents at Lincoln Center. One word, ladies and pugglemen: DOGGLES. I'm sorry, did you get lost trying to make your way to a Legally Blonde on Broadway audition? Do you need prescriptive eyewear? Do the doggies at the dog run throw THAT much dirt in your face? There is simply no excuse. Pinkified--fine. Puppia'd out--fine. Color coordinating with your owner--ehhh, I'll let it slip (I mean, matching with my mommy is a whole different story). But DOGGLES avec chin strap? There is no way this doginista will condone such behavior--it's worse than taking a sneaky wee behind the couch. Two words: Doggy Drekitude!!!!You know what they say in top dog land, one minute you're in, the next you're relegated beyond the bouncers at NYFW wearing DOGGLES!!!!!!

Armani: The Polly Push Lock Trench in Chestnut with the Piccadilly in Oak Silky Snake is elegant, classic and something I would always be very happy to walk beside, I could always hop in the Piccadilly if I get tired!

Armani: Mulberry’s Dog Macs are always cute and warm for when I’m out strutting the streets. This season it comes in a fabulous Trippy Tiger print, which makes me stand out from the other pooches and is so on trend for Spring Summer!

Butters: Omigod! There's nothing better than a fierce dog werking a bit of feline attitude. Those cats are really only good for one thing: lending their spots and stripes to our outerwear!

Butters: How long did it take to do your fur and makeup?

Armani: Oh it took ages! Pat McGrath almost forgot to curl my eyelashes! Sam McKnight did an amazing job puffing up my fur –it’s a shame I didn’t get to wear the red wig!

Butters: You would have looked FAB as a ginger.

Butters: Will we be seeing you in the next campaign?
Armani: Of course, I’d really love to be, but it is still to be confirmed.

Yesterday Mulberry held their SS11 show at Claridges and invited a pack of London's premier doginistas to take in the show--all of us clad in our finest newest CURRENT season Mulberry sweaters and coats. Whilst I of course stole the spotlight in my black wool jacket complete with gold buttons, an catty little maltipoo decided to steal my look. As our mommies oohed and ahhed and tried to shoot us together in our matching coats, I let issue from my little lips a mighty snarl that warned the white fluffy creature to think twice before stealing my style again. The presumptuous pup then tried to stick her nose in MY Jaeger bag, which was too much for me to handle, so I attempted to nip her but Mommy reprimanded me. Meanwhile, as the paps fawned over Alexa Chung in the front row, we pups were too busy sniffing one another and checking who rocked which look best--seriously, fashion dogs can be such bitches. So here's a selection of the day's best dressed, obviously featuring an ample selection of prime shots of Mulberry's favorite mutt (just kidding, you know I'm purebred) me, myself and I, the Princess Pomeranian. Fashion Week Interlude

I know whilst Mommy has been in NYC scrambling away to cover fashion shows at NYFW, my dlog has fallen on radio silence. This is entirely her fault, always blame the human. I was so miffed at being unable to cross the Atlantic with her to visit my hometown and recreate my careless pre-doginista days rolling around in the dirt at Tompkins Square dog park that I just decided to dog it all to hell and kick up my paws in relaxation until the fash pack re-Trans-Atlantic-ified coming back to me. Like a terrier fetching a stick in the park, they always come back. But, thanks to this rabies-less island and its ridiculous and insular pet policies (just you wait, Great Britain, I'll show you a rabid fashionista), I had to stay put. So, in dogged protest, I abstained from dlogging til Mommy's return. But now she's back and made it up to me with a brand new bag and coat. Ok, to be fair, not from Mommy herself, but adoring PRs who just can't help but shower me with gifts (as they ought!). One item you'll be seeing loads of this fashion week season is my new Butters Bag, courtesy of Jaeger (proper post coming soon). The other is my spiffy new Mulberry coat which was sent over for me to sport to the show. Speaking of Mulberry, enough of my pommy excuses, let's get back to fashion dlogging!

Fashion's Night Out is just around the corner (I won't be telling you what I'll be getting up to jusssst yet), but I will say this. My fave store back home, good old Barneys, has commissioned an artist to create one of a kind, handcrafted haute chew replicas of my two favorite Vogue edirixes: Anna and Grace and I, for one, can't wait to sink my teeth into those gems. The Grace doll comes complete with a mass of firey red hair, perfect for pulling out one by one. As for Anna, I just can't help myself, I want to snatch her fabulousness in my teeth and give her a good shake--let's see if the infamous bob remains perfectly static after I've had my tussle.

Anna and Grace are to be auctioned off on charitybuzz.com beginning August 31, with the proceeds benefiting The New York City Aids Fund.

The life of a model is not an easy one. But if you're like me, and you were lucky enough to be born with "it"--a tail of coiled fluffy perfection, beady glowing eyes and the most delicate of paws, it's easy peasy. I can shoot in my sleep, being the supermodel dog who coined the technique of Smizing with her tail. Everywhere I go people book me for shoots, whether I'm just romping in the park, tossing my golden locks in the sunshine or curled up in my Louis, time and time again I book random jobs without even trying: I'm just THAT GOOD. A few weeks ago I did just one such shoot after being approached in the park. God the life of a top pom is exhausting

Butters Takes Glastonbury

You may have thought, whilst reading on Mommy's blog about her gallivanting off to see Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z and three full days at Lovebox that yours truly must have been sat at home, dejected and alone, tail curled up by the phone, waiting for Mommy to come home. Twas not so.

Just as Miss Selfridge kitted out Mommy with passes and clothes for Lovebox, they saved the best for their real favorite four-legged blogger. You see, Mommy is too much of a city girl to do the whole camping thing, but I revel in the chance to take a dump in a wide open field, no poopie bags necessary and run free, the way mother canine nature created me. Yes, as long as I have my pretty pretty pink VI-Pomeranian tent, ample chewtoys, a bit of Dog Perignon, I can sleep just about anywhere.

Miss Selfridge of course recognized this instantly and so hooked me up with a series of outfits and VIP passes to the only festival that really matters, Glastonbury, where I snuggled up with my old friend Kate (we traded notes on maintaining our luscious blonde locks) and had a sniff of Harry Potter pal Emma's new BF. He did not smell like a foxy dachshund, more like a poodle; I predict the romance will not last.

And so I share with you. Just remember this: when it comes to rockin all night long, four legs are better than two.

BREAKING NEWS: Jaeger does the BUTTERS BAG!!!

Mutts and Pups, Bitches of London, hear ye, hear ye: this Pomeranian has a bit of very exciting breaking news to share (suck it, Women'sWearDoggy).

For the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2011 season, yours truly, le fashion dogitina extraordinaire, will be teaming up with the design team at Jaeger London to create my ULTIMATE ride: the Butters Bag. You see, the conundrum is thus. I am the fashion dog, yet there does not exist on this stylish earth a dog bag per se, that does not resemble a DOG BAG. That is, not shaped like it's built for a Westie, no ugly vents, no obvious LIVE ANIMAL INSIDE paraphernalia of any sort. Because, any of you who know me know that I AM NOT JUST A DOG.

So mommy and I refuse to acquiesce to such tack-tastic modes of transport and, as you know, I practically live in mommy's Neverfull. Comfortable though the LV may be, it is not without its kinks, given that the bag was in essence, not designed to maximize Pomeranian comfort, although it damn well should have been.

When the subject came up with Auntie Iona at Jaeger, she suggested the wonderful idea that I work alongside Jaeger's handbag design team to create the ultimate carrier of canine chic: the dog bag that looks nothing like a dog bag.

And as any good muse/designer, I went into the meeting with the design team fully prepared. That is to say, I brought with me a selection of my three favorite bags so as to demonstrate what works and what doesn't (strap length, depth of the bag, solid bottom, that sort of thing) so as to stir up the winning ingredients. The designers are marinating on my words of wisdom and working on the sketches and mock ups as we speak...more updates to come soon!

But to all those haters out there, I say this: there's a new "it" bag in the works, and I guarantee its bark will be every bit as chic as it's bite. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFF!!!

Too hot to handle: a doggy hair crisis

Too hot to move!

Summer has finally arrived and I have a complaint to take up against the heat: I am one hot bitch. Being a pom originally hailing from POMERANIA (today part of eastern Germany and northern Poland), I have a double layered coat and was born and bred, believe it or not, to pull tiny designer sleds through the snow. I am a creature of Autumn/Winter, a lover of furs, shearlings and anything fuzzy. Gladiator sandals and floral summer frocks are simply not a good look for me--makes my tale look fat. So every year, when this weather rolls around, turning Londontown (the city also known as LAND-OF-NO-AIRCON) into a dog-sized sauna, I suffer. I pant, my tongue hanging out of my mouth which makes me look like a desperate single lass ready to devour the nearest pug or bulldog to saunter past. My paws are so hot and sweaty I can barely type this post, all I want to do is splay out on the bed and pray for a slight breeze to break the heavy stale air (pictured above). What to do?? Last summer, when I went with Mommy to Sorrento for a beach holiday, she had me shaved in order to make my adventures more comfortable (keeping the tail, of course). And while at first I felt as though my prize fabulousness had been cruelly robbed from me, after I saw how the world swooned and crooned at my short crop, I owned up to it and rocked the look well into the fall when my locks started to grow back.

But the problem was thus: because of the delicate nature of a Pomeranian's double coat, you are never to take a razor to our fur. This groomer (Mutz Nutz) did just that. So while the cut looked and felt great for the summer months, it actually, like a bad perm or crappy extensions, did more damage to my coat in the long run. It took months of regular trips to the groomer to regain my former fluff, and it's still not all back yet.

There's also the matter of the short cut making me look like a pup again, which, having just rounded 21 in dog years, sends cootie-like shivers up my spine. I want to scream in Mommy's face, I'M NOT A PUPPY ANYMORE and get the grown up respect I feel I've earned over the long years of my adolescence. But the shortcut takes me straight back to a young girl of 14 weeks, I really don't want to have to start carrying my ID again to parties. Besides, you never know when this heat will break and London's atmosphere returned to its regularly gloomy state and I'll be left shorn, nearly naked, for all the world to see and freezing cold. I suppose I could always go the route of doggy extensions in that case, but being a breed known for the fabulousness of my coat, I just never felt right checking out the canine weaves alongside those scraggly hairless chihuahuas. OH the trials and tribulations of a doginista's life!

CFDA: Canine Fashion Design Academy

So as you all know, it's that time of year again where students send collection after collection traipsing down runways in a blaze of graduate fashion glory. As I sat front row at Istituto Marangoni, perched atop Uncle Bert's lap, I found that the designs prowling the catwalks were as usual, not to my poofy couture standards (that is, completely biased towards humans) and I soon sought out Uncle Bert's roast beef to snack on and tuned out the rest of the show. There weren't even any bags that piqued my interest to test drive. I am just sick of watching these girls prancing about on two legs, modeling looks that no doginista in her right mind would ever sport--it's just plain species-ist.

Humans complain endlessly about models being too thin, too young, whining on and on--but aside from Mulberry's shows, how many pups do you see strutting their stuff down the runway? The pet industry is a £40bn plus and STILL growing. We have our own fashion week in NYC, and our section in Harrods is far superior to yours.

What we don't have, however, is a doggy design school, a place where doginistas and slightly confused humans can learn the tools of the four-legged fashion trade. What these young pups need to keep brands like Puppia and Pet London fresh and innovative season after season (to those who say a harness is just a harness, I say, Levi's/Balmains, no difference--denim is denim!), is a canine-guided institution: a school where dogs are trained in fashion and train fashion human students as well. Thus I have decided to found the CFDA: Canine Fashion Design Academy. As I already have my Phd in Cuteness, I have taken the liberty of appointing myself headbitch and am currently in the process of scouting locations for our main campus (I'm thinking Hyde Park Corner) and putting together a teaching staff of London's most keen and cutting edge sartorial canine minds. The curriculum is to include classes such as:

As I've rounded that golden age of 21, there has been a lot of speculation as to just who, exactly is my boyfriend. Is it the renegade Pip from the wrong side of the North London tracks? Is it the burly Jimmy with whom I have had weekly Starbucks rendezvous for as long as I've resided in this Hill they call Not? The countless greyhounds, huskies and other brawny creatures I've been spotted sniffing on various street corners (let's face it, girls, size TOTALLY counts)? The correct answer is: none of the above. I am a ferociously single bitch, and proud of it. I am a tease, a flirt extraordinaire. Like Carrie the Pomeranian.

However, two things happened this weekend which have struck me to my "no-plus-one-thank-you" core. 1) SATC2. Mommy has yet to see it, but I nipped out of the house Saturday afternoon for a matinee and found myself emerging from the theater, as I did after the first, feeling less than stellar about my single-gal status. There's got to me a Mr. Big dog out there somewhere for me...and 2) I think I may found him. Well, glimpsed, to be more accurate. When mommy and the bloginistas got together for brunch at 202 on Sunday, as we were waiting to be seated, I saw him. You know how there are moments you just know, a click of canine hearts, two tails wagging in one. He was a lean, mean, toy dog love machine. A chocolate hunk of a sausage dog, his short little legs pounding the wooden floor after me as mommy dragged me to my table. Our eyes met. We sniffed. I pounced. Sigh. Oh my tubular love, I didn't even get a chance to ask your name...

Dear dachshund, if you're reading this, I'll be waiting for you, stick in mouth, at the Duck Pound in Hyde Park tomorrow afternoon. Please don't leave me to chew it alone.

My New Bestie: Max Azria

You all know that first and foremost, on this Memorial Day, that despite being West London's premier Pomeranian, I am actually a New York dog. So when the invite arrived in my dogbox for the launch of London's first BCBG store, I new I'd have to slip into my slinkiest Herve Leger (spanx to help reign in the tail) before heading on down to the King's Road. You see, Max Azria and I go way back, wayyyy back. I even walked in his Autumn/Winter 2010 show at New York Fashion Week (as a favor, those of you who know me well know that, as I'm now a mature three-year-old, my dogwalk days are coming to an end, FROW all the way from here on out).

Anyway, it was great to see Max at the store launch. Upon sighting me, he promptly abandoned the extension-wearing tight white mini dress clad Channel 4 presenting bimbo at the DJ and came rushing over to greet me. Sweeping me up in his arms, we had a good cuddle just like we used to back home. It's so nice seeing old friends again...

Impromptu Photo Shoot on Westbourne Grove

Yesterday, as Mommy and I were trotting down Westbourne Grove to go meet with the doggies at Dinny Hall, we were stopped on the street by a stylist mid-shoot wanting to employ my services. The shoot was for Dutch brand Oscar B and I gladly stepped up to camera. Afterwards, the photographer printed a photo for us to keep. All in a doginista's day's work.

Dog in a Bag: Mud, Mutts and Mulberry

Peace. Love. Mud. Words to live by, if you ask me (just please add "beef" and "tummy rub"). On Tuesday, mommy took me along to a breakfast at Mulberry for the launch of their collaboration with Glastonbury photographer Venetia Dearden.

Whilst mommy was busy investigating the photography and chatting away, I discovered, to my great joy, that a doggy festival ground--Glastonpomerania!--had already been erected in anticipation of my arrival! I whizzed in and about the tent, wolf grin plastered on my face, and hopped from pink hay bale to orange to blue to yellow to green before having a quality roll around.

Then, to my surprise, another dog arrived, the rather presumptuous Beano, who kept trying to paw both me and my hay bale (younger man, he was only one, when will these boys ever learn!). I soon tired of the flirtation and set my sights on the breakfast canapes making the rounds in the room (once I smelled mini-hamburger, hay bales and Beano be damned, I was on a mission!!).

I was then introduced to the artist, Venetia, who was a really lovely woman. Naturally, I had to test drive the goodie bag, this hemp sack, with a lonnnnng strap. The bag itself is perfect for me, mommy can fit me, her wallet, keys and phone (maybe a small camera) quite comfortably. It's not very deep, so there's no straining of my neck to see. The only problem (which is mommy's favorite feature) is the long strap. Since the bag itself sits below the hip, I get bounced around off mommy's bum when she walks--so it's not the smoothest of rides. But then again, shouldn't the road to Glastonbury be a bumpy unpaved one? It's not exactly an insurmountable problem. All mommy needs to do is tie up the strap when she takes me around in the bag and I'll be ready to rock and roll (in the mud) all festival long!!
